Sunday Services

If you have any virus symptoms you must stay away. If you are in a vulnerable group or in any way concerned about the risk of transmission we recommend that you stay home and  join us online on Sundays at www.gilgal.co.uk for our excellent online services.

The Covid19 restricted seating capacity (which observes 2 metre social distancing) at Awel-Y-Mor is 60 people maximum. We therefore ask that you attend only one service each Sunday. Generally there is more space available at the afternoon service.

Please sit were directed to by our stewards - chairs have been measured to be 2 metres apart.

DO NOT sit with anyone outside of your household, or care bubble (a care bubble is where you are providing support and health care for a relative, or other vulnerable person). Social bubbles no longer exist.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in these exceptional times.

Sunday Club/Toddlers

A supervised Sunday Club will run during the morning service in a room adjacent to the main hall. Please make sure to collect children promptly after the service ends.

We are proposing to make an area available for toddlers (parent supervised) in the foyer area at the rear of the hall - please bear with us during the first couple of weeks while we settle in. Due to COVID regulations toddlers will need to bring their own toys.

Thank you.

Covid19 Regulations and Gilgal:

We ask everyone attending our services to be considerate of others and if possible wear a mask into, during and out of worship services (unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from doing so), and to make every effort to remember to fully comply with the directions and guidance for hygiene protection and social distancing. This will reduce everyone's anxieties and allow more members and friends to return to worship with us.

Thank you for your kindness and help. www.gilgal.co.uk

Gilgal Open For Services @ Awel-Y-Mor

The apostle John wrote: “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ”. (1 John 1:3). Christian fellowship is an essential part of Christian life and so it is with great joy that we can continue to hold worship services together at Awel-Y-Mor, Porthcawl, albeit within the legal constraints caused by the Coronavirus pandemic

In line with government guidance we have carried out a Risk Assessment and will operate the following system at the Pavilion for Sunday worship.

  • The will be two services with the morning service at 10.30am and the afternoon service at 5.00pm - services will be approximately 1 hour duration or less.

  • These services will include worship music and singing is now allowed so long as you continue to wear your face mask. There will bible based preaching and times of prayer. Children are welcome and we are hoping to make provision for a area for toddlers with parental supervision only. Toddlers will need to bring their own toys.

  • We encourage all in our fellowship who cannot attend to continue to access our main online Sunday Morning service through Face Book, Youtube, and our website gilgal.co.uk.

  • Entrance to the building will be through the main door and doors will be left open during the service to aid ventilation.

  • To meet Health and Safety requirements we will need to record the names and contact details of those coming into the services - please ensure you give your details on the way in.

  • There will be a table just inside the entrance with hand cleansing resources, gloves and an information board. Face masks  must be worn at all times, so please bring and wear your own face mask. Only those exempt from wearing a face mask due to medical conditions can enter without one.

  • We will be operating a ‘clean as you come and go’ policy where it is the individuals responsibility to wipe over (with cleaning materials that we will provide), the place where they sit as they arrive and as they leave. The Pavilion will be sanitised between services.

  • Awel-Y-Mor can accommodate a maximum of 60 people for worship, whilst still maintaining a safe social distancing.

  • Please observe the social distancing markers and tapes and sit only where directed to do so by our stewards.

  • The bookstall, Mobo leaflets charity magazine etc., will not be available at present.

  • Seats are not reserved. Please note – no-one has an assigned seat and you may not be able to sit where you want to every week. Every seat, always, is free to whoever sits there first.

  • At present we cannot offer refreshments after the services.

  • An Offering Tin will be available in the foyer.

  • Toilets will be available in the foyer area outside of the main seating area of the theatre. Please remember to exercise social distancing and good hygiene requirements at all times.

  • We continue to value and support all our members, especially those who are advised to continue ‘shielding’ during the virus. Until then, if anyone needs help or support please contact us on 01656 771168 or faith@gilgal.co.uk.

  • We will be carrying out a continuing review of these guidelines and will notify the fellowship of any changes.

“I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD’.”
